ABN joins in supporting this initiative which, as every 22 March, pays tribute to this important resource and raises awareness of the millions of people who lack access to safe drinking water.
The theme of World Water Day 2022 is groundwater, and the title of the campaign is ‘Groundwater: making the invisible visible’, based on the following key points:
- Groundwater is invisible, but its effects can be seen everywhere.
- Almost all of the world’s freshwater in liquid form is groundwater, and it is the basis for drinking water supply, sanitation systems, agriculture, industry and ecosystems.
- Groundwater will play a key role in climate change adaptation. This is why we need to work together to sustainably manage this precious resource.
One of the main objectives of World Water Day is to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 6: water and sanitation for all by 2030, an objective that ABN has integrated into its corporate social responsibility policy.
How does ABN contribute to this important Sustainable Development Goal?
Pipeline systems have traditionally been the basis for the economic and social development of cities. They continue to play an important role today, as access to clean water and sanitation is a fundamental human right.
ABN is proud to contribute to this challenge as a company dedicated to the sustainable design and manufacture of the most innovative piping systems on the market, safeguarding water as a fundamental resource for sustainable development.
