- The installation is expected to provide 25% energy savings and 28% economic savings from the first year, produce the equivalent of planting 1,677 trees and avoid the emission of 508 tonnes of CO2 per year.
- With more than 2,500 solar modules that will generate more than 1,536 MWh of clean energy per year.
- The project is developed jointly with the energy services company Edison Next.
Photovoltaic project in Medina del Campo
The photovoltaic self-consumption project, with a capacity of 1,425 KWp, will be located at the company’s production plant in the municipality of Medina del Campo (Valladolid). The plant, which will be built on the ground, will have 2,592 photovoltaic modules that will generate more than 1,536 MWh of clean energy per year. La planta, que se va a construir en suelo, contará con 2.592 módulos fotovoltaicos que generarán más de 1.536 MWh de energía limpia al año.
With this photovoltaic self-consumption project, energy savings of 25% and economic savings of 28% are estimated for the first year after the installation is started. Furthermore, during the duration of the contract, it is estimated to reach a self-consumed energy volume of 23,034 MWh, which will mean a total saving of more than 3 million euros. The energy produced by the new facility will be equivalent to the planting of 1,677 trees and will prevent the emission of 508 tonnes of CO2 per year into the atmosphere.
‘Innovation and sustainability are the cross-cutting pillars of our activity for the continuous development of our products and services in a more efficient way. Therefore, having a photovoltaic self-consumption project in our production plant is key to continue on our path to be more sustainable’.
A commitment to sustainability
The company has a strong environmental strategy that establishes a commitment to sustainable development and the creation of long-term value as basic principles of its activity. In this sense, and as Javier A. Vázquez Sánchez, CEO of ABN, highlights ‘Innovation and sustainability are the cross-cutting pillars of our activity for the continuous development of our products and services in a more efficient way. Therefore, having a photovoltaic self-consumption project in our production plant is key to continue on our path to be more sustainable’.
With this project, ABN reaffirms its commitment to the goals of sustainable development and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. An energy initiative that endorses the company’s commitment to sustainability and new renewable energy sources, and which is part of its sustainable innovation strategy.
