We announce that we are participating in the second edition of the Climate Ambition Accelerator programme, which will enable companies to reduce global emissions by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050 by setting science-based targets. More than 700 companies are participating in this second edition, 71 of them Spanish, making Spain once again the country with the largest number of participating companies.
The Climate Ambition Accelerator programme will run for six months, from May to November 2022, and aims to engage companies of all sizes and sectors, whether they have emissions targets or have not yet defined them. During this period, we will participate in various capacity building sessions, access best practices, take advantage of learning opportunities and participate in expert roundtables and international events.
About the UN Global Compact Spain
The United Nations Global Compact is the UN initiative that leads the world in corporate sustainability. It has more than 20 years of experience and more than 70 local networks at a global level, including the Spanish network, which is, since its creation, one of the first national platforms of the Global Compact and the local network with the largest number of member entities, with 2,105, of which 935 have member status. Its objective is to encourage the implementation of the Ten Principles of the Global Compact while promoting the integration of the Sustainable Development Goals in the business sector, being the only organisation mandated by the United Nations for this purpose.
